I bought a new snow blower, with a Briggs and Stratton engine, in 2014. After sitting idle for a month, the engine will not start. I have to pay the dealer to pickup and drop off the snow blower. The dealer rebuilds the carburetor, then it works until it sits idle in the garage for another month. I have talked to several small engine repair shops and they all tell me the Briggs and Stratton carburetors and engines are junk. They tell me if it wasn't for the new Briggs and Stratton engines, their business would go down.

I use premium gas, with stabilizer, in all my small engines. If the engine won't be used for a while, I drain or run the gas tank dry. I will pay to have it fixed one more time, then sell it.

I called Briggs and Stratton several times to see if they will pay for a new carburetor or another overhaul. I haven't heard back from them. I've waited on hold for two hours. I will never buy another Briggs and Stratton junk engine again. Even engines made in China run better than these.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

2 weeks for new snowblower MD2400 and it burns up the belt. New belt not available.

Can't get a replacement belt. Pissed costumer.

They used to be one of the best. Learned my lesson!
