They seem to be sincere, took the information necessary, and I hope that we wont be seeing this driver driving at a high-speed and erratically on our main road in our town any longer, as we have young teenagers who are learning to drive and their erratic driving can cause a very bad accident, on a very dangerous Strip of road , I reached out to our community about your driver and the vehicle and several community members mentioned that they have seen this person driving, erratically and high-speed on numerous occasions

Battery exploded on 12kw backup generator. Local technician came to replace battery but no power going from transfer switch to the generator.

Technician called company tech support line only to get a message that everyone is in a meeting. Called several times over the course of an hour with same message. Technician had to leave unable to solve the issue.
What is the logic of having a tech support line that cannot be answered. Does EVERYONE have to be in a meeting.

Called myself today and was told that only technicians can call the tech support line and they have to be on-site.

So, I have to incur an additional charge to get someone back in the hope that someone will answer the phone at Briggs & Stratton? Great customer service.

Bought a mower and it died within 3 months. Briggs wouldn’t stand by their warranty.

Bought a mower in June last year. Ran it only 7 times (we had a dry year) and it blew up on me.

When I first got it I did all the proper setup and when I started it the mower poured smoke. I stopped it immediately and checked the oil. All was good. Fired it up again no problems.

6 mows later its dead. Took it to a certified Briggs repair shop to get the answer from Briggs that it was my fault. I didnt properly lubricate it. I believe this to be Briggs fault as it probably never was even started at the factory and never had the cylinder oiled to begin with.

Now Im out of $500. Thanks Briggs for your terrible customer service which is non existent. Seriously, they have no number to call and when you email them they say talk to your local dealer/repair shop.

Im tired of being taken advantage of from them. Next time Ill try Honda.

Wood splitter engine warranty

In March 2020, I purchased a yardmax wood splitter that has a Briggs and stratton XR Professional 306 cc engine. We own this machine with another couple and are very careful with it.

We are in our mid 60's and we each cut around 4 cords of wood for the season. so this machine has had very little use. We have kept up the maintenance and replaced the filter, and spark plug as needed. Oil has been changed and closely monitered.

Just last week the engine no longer works. Black smoke billows out of it and it runs so rough we can't use the splitter. We paid $1400.00 for this thing and it is very frustrating that we are being told we need to buy another engine!
I see that the warranty is only a 2 year warranty so that won't allow us to get this fixed under warranty since we are at the 3 year mark. I know that this may not mean anything to you, but for us to have paid this much money for the splitter only to have the engine no longer work is very frustrating.
Finally after 2 weeks a customer services rep called me.

He did not seem sympathetic to our frustratrustion. He repeatedly said we needed to have gas stabilizer in the fuel! We ran clear gas in this engine always!

I am very upset that they did not stand by their product and take some responsibility for their poor product. Never again, no more Briggs and Stratton!!
