Purchased a generator within 6months and 6 times using it the motor seized. Not many warranty stations and its been 2 weeks and I still haven't received my generator back. There customer service reps are rude.

I bought a Briggs and Stratton 8 hp engine to replace the exact one I had on my John Deere zero radius Lawn Vac. I had it one week and the crankshaft broke and Briggs said they don't warrant the crankshaft. What a crock of ***. Had the dam think a week used it once and it breaks and they don't warrant it. I will never buy anything Briggs makes. Their saying I did something wrong, I'm not an *** I know how to replace an engine. That's just an... Read more

After buying a Briggs and Stratton 550 4 stroke mower costing me $400 I thought at least I was getting a good brand mower ,,,well maybe in the past yes , but after the starting cord snapped the problems began ., run down to Bunnings and get a new cord easy , but trying to put on ridiculas ..the cheap bastards have riveted the cord spool attachment on and you can't unscrew it off to simply change the cord .. SO I get the drill out and drill the... Read more

I purchased a brand new push mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine from the Home Depot in September 2015. The mower was used MAX 24 hours total run-time. I check the oil before every single time I mow, I clean the air filter each time as well. I was cutting on September 9, 2016 and the engine literally blew up - scolding hot STEEL hunks of the engine went flying across the yard, landing at my young children's feet! You would think this would... Read more

I purchased a Craftsman ZT 7000 zero turn mower in 2010. After about a year the exhaust pipe broke away from the flange. Not under warrantee so I had to have it welded back on. Two years later the head gasket failed between the cylinder and the valve port, not too difficult to fix, but it took sometime to trouble shoot. Now we are back in business and the engine runs great. The next thing happened about a year or so later when the stud that... Read more

My Briggs and Stratton 550 series engine on a Sears craftsman edger was hard to start after the second time I used it. By the fourth time I used it within a year of ownership it only hit twice and would not start at all. I prime it three times as instructed. I used fresh gas with Startron for the stabilizer and ethanol issues like I do in all my other gas powered engines. I've cleaned and re oiled the air filter, checked the plug gap and cleaned... mower only has 10 hours and surges up and down and almost quits. I run ethanol free gas in all my equipment. I will return to Sears before my 30 days is up and will never buy a Briggs & Stratton again. I thought this powerful engine would last longer. My Honda took 12 years to die. Briggs & Stratton need to get it together. How can a new mower go to *** on a small yard so soon. After reading all these reviews I will reject any of Sears offers... Read more

Brand new lawn mower. Didn't work. Told by customer service they "sometimes" are sold defective. The good news is that they keep many service stations in business with their low quality waste of time and money machines.
